Portrait de l'auteur

At a glance

  • Has led Theraclion since May 2023, after three years as head of engineering
  • PhD in physics from Paris-Sud University, holds a Master's degree from MIT and from École polytechnique
  • Over fifteen years in breakthrough medical devices
  • Co-inventor of 16 patent families, author of around ten scientific publications

The thread running through his career

One question has guided his path: how do you turn a technology born in a laboratory into a treatment clinicians use every day? He has answered it three times.

1

The heart

At Sorin Group, working on pacemakers with no leads and no battery. His doctoral thesis addressed precisely the energy harvesting that would make such implants self-sufficient.

2

The eye

At Pixium Vision, for eight years, leading the development of an artificial vision implant. The device reached clinical trials and allowed blind patients with AMD to regain functional vision.

3

The veins

At Theraclion since 2020, on HIFU echotherapy applied to varicose veins.

His ambition has been the same at every stage: reach hundreds of patients first, then hundreds of thousands, while building a company that lasts.

Editorial scope

What he writes about here

He signs: the technology behind HIFU echotherapy, how the Sonovein® device works, its regulatory status, and Theraclion's industrial trajectory.
He does not sign: medical advice, diagnosis or treatment indications. Clinical content on this blog is reviewed and signed by a physician.
